Enhanced Sewage Sludge Disintegration and Nutrients Release by Catalytic Microbubbles Ozonation Using Sewage Sludge-Based Char as Catalyst

چکیده
Using microbubble ozonation (MO) technique to disintegrate sludge is a promising treatment process. To enhance the lysis and reduction of sludge, catalytic consisting MO sewage derived char (SC) were combined. Total solids (TS), volatile (VS), total nitrogen phosphate (TN TP) selected as main parameters for evaluating performance both in supernatant. With utilization MO, ozone largely improved. At reaction time 90 min, an efficiency exceeding 99% was achieved by using system. The optical dosages 150 mg/g suspended (SS) 1 g/L found lysis, respectively. TS VS concentrations decreased 43% 56%, respectively, compared those 16.7% 17.9% obtained with alone under condition solution pH 4. supernatant soluble chemical oxygen demand (SCOD), TN, TP, NH4+-N NO3−-N increased 1750%, 205%, 25%, 31% 43%, A small amount additional SC exhibited strong activity on dissolving organic matter demonstrating positive effect caused heterogeneous disintegration.

The Intensification of Sewage Sludge Anaerobic Digestion by Partial Disintegration of Surplus Activated Sludge and Foam
Large quantities of sludge are produced in biological wastewater treatment. Sludge has a high putrescibility and therefore has to be stabilizsed in order to enable an environmentally safe utilization or disposal. The anaerobic digestion is the standard technique to stabilize the sludge. Digestion produces biogas and reduces the amount of organic matter. The amount of excess sludge production fr...

Renewable energy will play a key role in the future in limitation of greenhouse gas emissions, with particular focus on carbon dioxide. Biomass and waste are considered among the dominant renewable energy sources. Due to their availability on the energy resources market, it has potential to ensure permanent energy generation.1–3 According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), fossil fuels a...
متن کاملRenewable Energy from Sewage Sludge
At present, the main contributors to waste to energy are municipal solid waste, manufacturing waste and landfill gas. Probably we are all most familiar with the first (MSW), which involves the garbage that the garbage men pick up regularly at our homes and which goes to a landfill, a transfer station, or incinerator. Today we are going to introduce you to something relatively new on the alterna...

Sewage sludge was used as fertilizer in agriculture in Switzerland since the begin ning of modern waste water treatment. During the last 40 years several difficulties arose with the agricultural use. The problems with pathogenic germs could be solved with a prepasteurisation. The contamination with heavy metals was reduced during the years but remained a cause for concern. The fear of mad cow d...
متن کاملHydrogen utilization by clostridia in sewage sludge.
A sporeformer morphologically different but physiologically similar to Clostridium aceticum Wieringa was isolated from sewage sludge. It used large amounts of H2 and CO2, converting them chiefly to acetic acid. Growth occurs anaerobically on yeast extract alone, but after the nutrients in yeast extract are used, growth continues at a reduced rate, supported by the conversion of the gases to ace...
